New European Championship qualification system
The qualification for the final tournament in 2027 foresees, for the first time, 3 rounds compared to the format so far, with two.
In this first round, Romania was assigned to a group in League B. The winners of the groups in League B advance to League A for the second round of the qualifiers.
There, League A teams will be divided into 7 groups of 4 teams each. The 4th place finishers in the League A groups in the 2nd qualifying round will be eliminated and replaced by the winners of the B League groups.
The first 3 ranked will advance to the last round of the qualifications, where there will again be 7 groups of 4 teams each. The winners of the groups will qualify for the European Championship, together with the host of the competition, the Czech Republic.
