In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the prosecutor's office checked the formation of utility tariffs and discovered an overstatement of 2.3 billion rubles.

The supervisory agency explained that the reason for the inspection was the increasing number of complaints from residents and publications in the media about sharp jumps in prices for services, interruptions in resources and delays in repairs and modernization of networks.

“It turned out that behind the increase in payments there are often unreasonable and inflated costs of resource supply organizations, which then fall on the shoulders of consumers. There are violations when concluding and implementing investment programs. All this has repeatedly been the subject of criminal legal assessment. But the relevant ministry of tariff policy does not always stop this. Over the past two years, the prosecutor's office sent 79 information to the department about the need to adjust the so-called required gross revenue of companies. The total amount is 2.3 billion rubles. This money was subject to exclusion from the tariffs, but remained part of them,” the press service said.

As an example, employees of the supervisory agency cited the situation from the village of Vanavara in Evenkia. There, prices for petroleum products were artificially raised in order to later receive compensation for lost income. This led to an increase in tariffs for citizens. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale). Also, a fraud case was opened based on the situation in the village of Brazhnoye, Kansky district (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The prosecutor's office noted that the Ministry of Tariff Policy knew about the situation, but did not take sufficient measures to balance the interests of business and residents.

Now compliance with legislation in this area has been placed under special control. The prosecutor's office continues to insist on preventing unreasonable financial burden on Krasnoyarsk residents.
