In Krasnoyarsk, the Sverdlovsk District Court sentenced a man who, as part of an organized group, sold license plates and state signs with special combinations numbers and letters.
It was established that a 35-year-old local resident decided to organize an illegal business and conspired to do this with traffic police officers, one of whom was the head of the traffic police, Andrei Sirotinin.
“The scheme was set up: inspectors provided access to the “cherished” combinations of numbers and letters, and their civilian accomplice played the role of a sales manager – he looked for clients and received money. Business in the field of “beautiful” state signs turned out to be profitable: the amount of bribes that passed through the hands of the group members amounted to 595 thousand rubles,” the prosecutor’s office said.
When the facts came to light, the defendant fully admitted his guilt, publicly repented and made a deal with justice by concluding a pre-trial agreement. The man was found guilty of receiving a large bribe by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (clause “a, c”, part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and was punished with 3 years of imprisonment in a maximum security colony, and the entire equivalent of illegal income was recovered from him in favor of the state.
