SOS Romania MEP Diana Șoșoacă was summoned to the General Prosecutor's Office on Monday. Soșoacă would undergo a psychiatric examination, in the context in which she is accused of 11 crimes, including the denial of the Holocaust.

Dozens of supporters of Diana Soșoacă are currently at the General Prosecutor's Office, where the SOS leader was summoned for hearings.
This is after the General Prosecutor's Office launched the criminal action against the MEP for 11 crimes, including: deprivation of liberty, anti-Semitism, promotion of the legionary cult and people convicted of genocide and outrage.
Diana Ioanovici Șoșoacă says that the prosecutors asked for her consent to perform a forensic psychiatric examination.
“According to the communicated documents, outrageous facts related to statements made in the public space, including on historical, political and national interest topics, are invoked, and at the same time I am requested to express my consent for the performance of a medico-legal psychiatric examination, regarding the statements and political opinions, a procedure that I consider extremely serious and deeply abusive, Bolshevik and fascist“, Sosoacă said in a statement.

Also heard in the European Parliament
Diana Șoșoacă was heard on Tuesday in the Committee for Legal Affairs of the European Parliament, in the context of a request from the General Prosecutor's Office of Romania regarding the lifting of her parliamentary immunity.
The hearing took place within the JURI Commission and was held behind closed doors. The members of the commission are to draft a report, and the final decision will belong to the plenary of the European Parliament.
In case of a favorable vote, her immunity will be lifted, and the Romanian authorities will be able to continue the investigation.
