There is a chance that the situation in the Middle East will calm down within 2-3 weeks – said the Minister of National Defense and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Saturday.

Kosiniak-Kamysz, asked by journalists on Saturday whether the conflict in the Middle East might escalate in the near future, replied: – I think there is a chance that the situation will calm down within 2-3 weeks.
– I obtained such information, for example, from my Turkish counterpart. These are, of course, assessments and opinions, but I hope they will be confirmed – he added.
The war in the Middle East began on February 28 with Israeli and US airstrikes on Iran, which responded with attacks on both Israel and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf region, including American military bases and civilian facilities located there: airports and petrochemical installations. Iran has also blocked free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, halting oil exports from the Middle East, leading to a sharp rise in fuel prices around the world. (PAP)
