Juventus and Dusan Vlahovic (26, forward) is nearing an agreement on a new contract, but an official meeting between all parties has yet to take place.
Vlahovic's father Milos visited his son in Turin this week. A meeting with the club's management did not take place as chief executive Damien Comolli is not in Italy. Because of this, contract talks have been slowed, with a new meeting between all parties expected before Easter.
Dusan Vlahovic must give up half his salary to stay at Juventus
The main parameters of the deal are already clear to both sides. Juventus will not exceed the salary structure agreed upon in Kenan Yildız's recent contract extension. This means that Vlahovic will have to accept a cut in his remuneration to €6-7m net per season, which is around half of his current earnings.
Instead, his representatives are pushing for a significant signing bonus to offset the pay cut.
As for the length of the contract, there is a maximum three-year deal, possibly with an extension option from the club, which will replace the initial five-year deal.
Vlahovic seems open to the idea of staying at Juve. A key role in his change of attitude was played by a talk with Luciano Spalletti, who assured the Serbian striker that he would play a central role in the team's attack going forward.
Meanwhile, reports of interest from Barcelona and Premier League clubs have not materialized into clear offers. Only Milan maintained communication, but without making a real proposal.
This lack of serious alternatives strengthens Juventus' position in negotiations and could prove decisive. Renewing Vlahovic's contract would also free up some of the limited summer transfer budget, and the money could be used to strengthen other positions.

Vlahovic is not going through the best season. He played 18 games, during which he scored 6 goals and managed two decisive assists.
After the first 30 stages, Juventus ranks 5th in Serie A, with 54 points. Next is the match with Genoa, the team financed by Dan Șucu (April 6).
