In the quarterfinals of the Cluj-Napoca tournament, Sorana Cîrstea defeated Anastasia Potapova (24 years old, 58 WTA), score 7-5, 6-4.
The other semi-final also takes place today, but from 17:00. Emma Răducanu (23 years old, #30 WTA), the number 1 favorite of the tournament, will face Oleksandra Oliynykova (25 years old, #91 WTA).

For qualifying for the semi-final, Sorana secured a check for nearly $12,000. If she manages to reach the final act of the Transylvania Open, the Romanian will take an additional $10,000. The championship trophy would bring her a check for $36,000. Total prize money at the Transylvania Open is $283,000.
She had a very good run in the competition, and in the most recent match she eliminated Anastasia Potapova, score 7-5, 6-4. At the end of the game, Sorana addressed a few words.

I feel great, but I'm tired. I feel great because I am proud to play my first semi-final here in Cluj-Napoca, at one of my favorite tournaments. It was a tough match, but I'm so happy!
