Norilsk Nickel wins the national award “Leaders of Responsible Business”

March 27 11:58

Norilsk Nickel won the Leaders of Responsible Business award for the third time. The award ceremony took place on March 26 during the XXXV Congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

The honorary award was received by Norilsk Nickel President Vladimir Potanin.

“For the third year in a row, Norilsk Nickel’s corporate programs have received the highest ratings from experts and the organizing committee of the Leaders of Responsible Business award. I would like to thank you for this award, for your trust and confirm that the most important value for Norilsk Nickel is caring for people,” commented Vladimir Potanin.

At the end of 2025, the company’s programs showed the best results in two categories: “For contribution to the development of human potential” and “For contribution to achieving national goals and objectives of the climate agenda.”

The “90 Years of Caring for People” program is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Norilsk Nickel and is conceived as a holistic story about how the company develops human potential: internally – through personnel decisions and concern for the well-being of employees, externally – through social initiatives in the territories where the company's enterprises operate.

The program “System for monitoring buildings, structures and permafrost” was named among the best in the category “For contribution to achieving national goals and objectives of the climate agenda.”

Norilsk Nickel has created a system of continuous monitoring, assessment and management of the stability of buildings and structures in the Norilsk industrial region to ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of facilities.

“„“Nornickel” brought the Internet to Norilsk, without waiting for the state to do it. This, of course, changed the life of the city,” said Vladimir Potanin. “The second important factor is that new housing has appeared in Norilsk, it is being introduced house by house; new kindergartens and clinics are opening. For residents of Norilsk, this is a sign that the city is alive and developing. You can also add ecology to this piggy bank. Since we stopped emitting sulfur into the air in the same volumes and are reducing emissions as part of the Clean Air program, the environmental situation in Norilsk has changed. Our company has always monitored the city. In recent years, this has become more noticeable than ever – both to ourselves and to the townspeople. I hope they appreciate it.”
