After finishing in second place in group H, which also included Romania, the Bosnians will face Wales on Thursday, March 26, in the semi-final of the playoffs leading to the final tournament, the match to be held in Cardiff. The winner will advance to the table qualifier five days later at home against Italy and Northern Ireland.

Lukic's name accompanies on the list chosen by coach Sergej Barbarez those of well-known strikers from German football, such as Ermedin Demirovic (Stuttgart) or Haris Tabakovic (Borussia Monchengladbach), but especially that of veteran Edin Dzeko, who is currently playing for the second division Schalke 04.
