In the northern territories of the Krasnoyarsk Territory they are preparing for the main fishing event. The ethnocultural festival “Khadir Yuryakh” (“River of Smelt”) will be held on April 24-25 in the village of Levinskie Sands, which is located on the opposite bank of the Yenisei from Dudinka, reports Komsomolskaya Pravda – Krasnoyarsk.
There is an authentic camp with real tents on the shore. Guests will enjoy fishermen's competitions, northern all-around competitions with tynzyan throwing and sled jumping, master classes from elders and artisans, a fair from volunteer groups and family communities. The culmination will be the gastronomic platform “Taste of Taimyr” with fish soup and stroganina.
The real smelt fever, according to old-timers, began in Dudinka in 1981. Then, at the icebreaker, which was down for repairs, divers complained that the fish were interfering with their work – they swooped in in a flock and bit.
