Asked about a possible transfer to Real Madrid, Rodri (29 years old), the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner, does not exclude this option!

After a 24/25 season where a serious knee injury limited him to just 8 appearances, Rodri has once again become a fixture in Manchester City's squad, with 28 appearances this season.

He also returned to the national team at the end of the month, after missing the last two actions of the World Championship qualification campaign.

Being in the training camp of the national team, waiting for the friendly matches with Serbia and Egypt, Rodri was asked if he could ever play for Real Madrid, having spent the first part of his career playing for rivals Atletico.

The Ballon d'Or in 2024 not only did not exclude this possibility, but even encouraged it, speaking superlatively about the giant from the Spanish capital.

“Exclude? No! There are a lot of players who have gone down this path in the past, right? Especially since they didn't go directly [de la una la alta]but in time. You can't turn down the best teams in the world.

They have a fan base that gives everything for them, and for me, the Bernabeu is always incredible, a stadium that commands great respect,” said Rodi, according to Onda Cero.

Further fueling rumors of a possible move to Real Madrid, Rodri said of his situation in Manchester that “I have one year left on my contract, there will be a time when we will have to sit down at the table to discuss and dialogue“.

The Spanish international arrived in England in 2019, bought by Manchester City from Atletico Madrid for 70 million euros.

Since then, he has played 293 times for the “citizens”, contributing 28 goals and 32 assists to the rich harvest of 4 championships, a Champions League, a European Super Cup, 3 League Cups and an FA Cup.

This season I don't have such a big load of minutes and I stay much fresher. At the moment, things are going well. I feel like I'm becoming that Rodri we want again.
