Energy workers are preparing for upcoming floods in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Specialists of the branch of Rosseti Siberia – Krasnoyarskenergo carried out a set of measures to prepare for the passage of the spring flood and provide residents of the region with uninterrupted power supply during this period.
“Currently, a list of power grid facilities located in high-risk areas in the territories of municipalities of the region has been determined. Work has been completed to strengthen power transmission line supports, inspection schedules for power facilities have been developed, and monitoring is underway,” said Evgeniy Nor, deputy director for technical issues and chief engineer of the Krasnoyarskenergo branch.

According to forecasters, this year the opening of the Yenisei, Mana, Kan, Chulym, and Tuba rivers is expected several days earlier than the long-term average, and the first wave of floods may last until mid-April. Bogotolsky, Emelyanovsky, Ermakovsky, Kozulsky, Kuraginsky, Minusinsky, Sharypovsky, Shushensky and Uzhursky municipal districts are at risk of flooding.
The Krasnoyarskenergo branch has 243 teams of 1,353 people and 819 pieces of equipment on standby to promptly respond to possible consequences of the flood. It is planned to use four quadcopters to monitor the situation. 26 mobile backup power supply sources with a total capacity of 4.1 MW have also been prepared for operation. In addition, interaction has been organized with units of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and local authorities.
