“Our Iranian friends have not given us any such information. We do not know how reliable these accounts are.” said Peskov, according to News.ro.
The US has presented Iran with a 15-point plan that includes curbs on its ballistic missile and nuclear programs, as well as ending support for Iran-affiliated groups in the region.
The peace proposal currently being discussed could be similar to the one in May 2025, rejected by Iran before negotiations collapsed. But there is speculation that the US is trying either to create the impression of diplomatic progress or to keep up the pressure.
The two sides have given conflicting statements about the nature of the talks. Iran has accused the US side of trying to calm US financial markets by announcing the postponement of a potential attack on Iran's energy infrastructure.
Trump said the suspension of military action for five days would provide time to explore the possibility of an agreement based on “15 points”claiming that recent discussions have been “very good and productive”.
Iran, however, denied the existence of direct negotiations, recognizing only indirect contacts related to a possible resumption of dialogue.
The plan also proposed the development of an externally supported Iranian civilian nuclear program with a fuel source located outside the country and subject to oversight by international bodies. A regional uranium enrichment consortium was also envisaged, with the participation of Iran and some Gulf states, alongside international partners.
