Renowned French coach Patrick Mouratoglou (55) believes that lack of motivation could represent the biggest danger for world leader Carlos Alcaraz (22) in the coming years.
Patrick Mouratoglou analyzed elimination of Carlos Alcaraz in the third round of the Miami Open tournamentin front of Sebastian Korda, score 3-6, 7-5, 4-6, pointing out that the main reason for this poor result is that the world number one started to get bored.
The French coach believes that the Spaniard lacks motivation, which could become a danger for him in the future if he does not change his strategy.

Alcaraz's game depends a lot on how much fun he has on the court and his mood during the competition. According to Patrick Mouratoglou, he lacks that spark in matches of this type, which he has in the higher stages of major tournaments, when he knows how to handle the whole situation completely differently.
Mouratoglou doesn't believe Alcaraz's losses are due to a playing problem, but rather to the fact that he has achieved so much success at such a young age.
“My feeling is that Alcaraz is getting bored. The guy already has seven Grand Slam titles and I feel that he is not so interested in playing Masters 1000 tournaments, of which he has already won many. That is really a thought that I have. I also think that this will be a danger for him in the years to come.”said Mouratoglou, in a video clip posted on his personal Instagram account.

Furthermore, he provided an example to explain why Carlos Alcaraz has more difficulty against the lower ranked players than against the big names on the circuit.
“A lot of people say 'oh, this year at Roland Garros, Wimbledon or the US Open, he doesn't play well in the first rounds'. Yes, he doesn't play well because he gets bored. He has a lot of room for maneuver. When the match is very easy, he loses his concentration, because he knows he can re-break at any moment.
He may not be aware or think “oh, I don't care”, but he is willing to lose his service or focus. This is a danger for him,” concluded Mouratoglou, quoted by puntodebreak.com.
