OSAGO may rise in price by at least 30% due to prices for spare parts. The National Automobile Union has already expressed outrage at the price of insurance in Russia – it is 3-5 times higher than in Belarus, although the legislation, prices and accident rates are similar.
Let's take a typical owner (over 25 years old, driving for more than two years) of a 2020 Kia Rio with a 122 hp engine. For him, the policy will cost 9,100 – 13,866 rubles, for a similar Belarusian – approximately 3k in terms of Russian money. According to the head of the union, Anton Shaparin, the economy and availability of spare parts in the two countries are almost the same. In Russia, the maximum payment under compulsory motor liability insurance is up to 400k in case of damage to a car and other property, up to 500k in case of harm to life and health. In Belarus you can get 10k euros.
At the same time, the cost of spare parts in Russia is reduced by at least three times. The most popular are the front bumpers. For example, for a BMW 5, insurance companies estimate them at 47,051 rubles, although its real price is 198,317 rubles. For the basic Solaris – at least 9035 rubles, for compulsory motor insurance – 5684 rubles. The real cost of a bumper for a new “Grant” is 4,433 rubles, from insurers it is 1,567 rubles.
Due to small compensation, Russians often refuse insurance; more than half of drivers from the regions drive without a policy. Experts believe that the MTPL system may collapse in the next three years. At the same time, the policy will soon rise in price by 30% due to rising prices for spare parts.
