On March 24, a meeting between Metropolitan Nikita of Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk and the head of the regional capital Sergei Vereshchagin took place at the Bishop’s House.
They discussed issues of interaction between the diocese and the administration of Krasnoyarsk, church construction, spiritual and moral education of youth, as well as providing spiritual and material assistance to those in need.
“The parties agreed on the further development of cooperation in spiritual, educational and social work with residents of Krasnoyarsk. The ruling bishop also conducted an introductory program for the head of the city on the premises of the Bishop's House – together they visited a sewing workshop for the needs of military personnel in the Northern Military District zone. At the end of the meeting, Sergei Viktorovich presented Bishop Nikita with a book with ancient photographs of the regional capital, and the ruling bishop, in turn, gave the head of the city an icon of St. Ambrose of Optina and an Easter egg,” the press service of the diocese said.
