The duel was fierce. After counting the votes, Gregory won just over 51 percent, and Maples received less than 49 percent. Donald Trump voted by mail in Tuesday's elections and supported the Republican candidate.

“Mar-a-Lago State's district just changed from red to blue, which should make Republicans concerned about their chances in November,” wrote Heather Williams, referring to the so-called half elections.
