In Bacieczki they don't want a hotel between their houses. It would be located at Produkcyjna Street. The city issued a permit in which it referred to the provisions of the development plan for the estate. However, the document was protested – we read in “Kurier Poranny”.

Construction is planned on a plot at 40 Produkcyjna Street. Currently, there is a villa in a typical PRL cube, typical of the buildings in this part of Bacieczki. There is a former farm building deep inside the property, and the neighborhood is dominated by single-family houses. Soon, however, the entire area may undergo a significant transformation, significantly changing the character of the area.

Will the idyll end soon?

An investor has appeared in Bacieczki and is planning to build a hotel in place of the existing villa. Residents point out that the facility is to be built in such a way that the windows of the rooms will overlook one of the neighboring yards, while the windows on the other side will illuminate the corridor along the building. The project includes 20 hotel rooms – six on the ground floor and seven on the first and second floors. There are also seven parking spaces planned at the facility.

On February 9, 2026, the investor obtained permission to construct a service and residential facility in the form of a hotel. The inhabitants of Bacieczki express their opposition – they informed “Kurier Poranny”. The residents collected over 220 signatures and sent a letter to the voivode – We cannot imagine having a hotel next to our houses. This will introduce increased traffic and noise, residents complain. The investment area is located at the intersection with Bacieczki Street, near a bus stop and a pedestrian crossing used by children going to school, which additionally arouses reluctance to this project.

Is there a “bottom line” underneath?

The inhabitants of Bacieczki are also afraid that the investment may be a trick and in reality, instead of a hotel, a multi-family apartment block will be built. They cite examples of other buildings marked as service buildings – at Cedrowa and Wyszyńskiego streets – which, as a result, actually became apartment blocks.

The city explains that the local plan for this area has been in force since December 2015 and takes into account the nature of the estate.

– Most of the areas are intended for single-family housing. Service functions were allowed only on streets of a higher technical class, such as ul. Production, and on plots where similar development already exists. This was the result of changes that had been observed for years, when buildings along roads changed their function from residential to service. Service areas along busy streets also serve as acoustic and functional insulation from houses located deeper in the estate – reports the city's press office.

Officials emphasize that similar processes have been taking place in many housing estates for a long time and are independent of the local plan. Most often, this is due to difficulties in living directly next to streets with intense pedestrian and vehicle traffic – we read further in “Kurier Poranny”.

Referring to the construction of a hotel at ul. Produkcyjna 40, the city notes:

The investor submitted a complete application meeting all formal requirements, on the basis of which a permit for the construction of the facility was issued. In case of use inconsistent with this permit, the matter should be reported to the construction supervision.

The Provincial Office stated that: the voivode has until March 26 to consider the protestbut due to the complicated nature of the case, the deadline will be extended.

The investor has still not commented on the planned investment – we read further in “Kurier Poranny”.
