Victor Angelescu, minority shareholder and president at Rapidtalked about the harsh sanction applied by the Disciplinary Commission of the FRF on the people from Giulești, after the incidents that happened in the stands at the match in the last stage of the regular season in the Super League, which ended with a score of 1-1 against the University of Craiova.
Rapid received a fine of 60,000 lei, and the club was also sanctioned with scheduling a home game without spectators in 10 sectors of the stadium. Victor Angelescu announced that the supporters who have subscriptions in the respective sectors will be relocated to the match in which the suspension will be served, against the University of Cluj.
Victor Angelescu commented on the fines received by Rapid this season: “We tried everything possible”
“On my word of honor, I have tried almost everything possible. I agree with the law, pyrotechnic materials should not be used, but I think it is also a very outdated law.
We are penalized even if 10 smoke bombs and 100 firecrackers are thrown, and if only one is thrown, the fine is the same. You lit a torch in the gallery, you get a fine. Both the Federation and the Gendarmerie give fines, but the biggest ones are given by the Federation.
All subscriptions will be relocated. We ended up in the situation we were in last season, both in terms of the amount of fines and their number. A lot less has been thrown in the field this season, but throwing a firecracker is the same as throwing 100.
I have now received a fine of 60,000 lei, plus the closure of the sectors for two firecrackers. That's all he threw at the match with Craiova. We wrote every time, we talked to the supporters, they know these things. But, it is very difficult to have 12-13,000 supporters and not one of them has a firecracker. In the match with Craiova, two firecrackers were set off at the same time.
The fine starts at 5,000 lei and each time another is applied, another 50% is added. If I set the stadium on fire, between the quotes, 50% is also given, if I set off two firecrackers, 50% is also given.
The next sanction will be 100% closure of the stadium. If in the match against U Cluj he will throw himself on the field again, in the next match we will play behind closed doors“, revealed Victor Angelescu, at Prima Sport.
