Stefanos Tsitsipas (27, #51 ATP) suffered a blitz defeat at the hands of Arthur Fils (21, #31 ATP) in the 3rd round of the tournament in Miami, 0-6, 1-6.
Tsitsipas had started well in Miami, winning in straight sets against Arthur Fery and Alex De Minaur, but the match against Frenchman Arthur Fils turned into a nightmare.
Fils had won all 4 “straightforwards” so far and he had no trouble last night either, leaving Tsitsipas with only one game! After 56 minutes, the match was over.

Shattered by the Arthur Fils nightmare, Tsitsipas made a scandal: “You should be ashamed!”
Beyond the game itself, Tsitsipas attracted attention with the scandal that erupted during the match, when he criticized the referee's visibility from the main court in the complex.
The Greek believes that the field was not lit enough and “thundered” in the direction of the chair referee:
“You should be ashamed. Have you ever seen me serve and miss forehands for five hours straight? That doesn't happen. I can't see the ball. I don't know how he sees it!“.

Arthur Fils, in the form of his life: “Best match I've played! Crazy”
After the match, the Frenchman was enthusiastic about the game staged. Injuries kept him away from the field for half a year, between August 2025 and February 2026, but since his return he has played sensationally, with 11 wins in the 15 matches played in the last two months.
“I think this was the best match I've played in my life. I've played great matches before, but this level was crazy. I don't know what to say. Man, I'm completely back. It's like I never left!” said Fils.
