At the end of the second round, the statisticians at Football Meets Data have updated their play-off calculations and each team's chances of winning the title at the end of this season.
How the chances for the title look after the second stage of the play-off
After losing ground at the end of the first play-off failure, now Craiova's chances have increased to become champions, after winning the Bucharest derby with Dinamo. Olteni are now seen with a +9% chance for the title compared to the previous round, when they were at home.
CFR Cluj also recovered from the failure in the match with U Cluj and won at home with Rapid, so it is now seen with +14% chances to finish on the podium.
However, the failure suffered by Rapid in Gruia has important consequences for Gâlcă's team, which was first in the previous round and which has now fallen to 3rd place. At this moment, the statisticians believe that the Giulești team has lost ground both in the fight for the title and in the fight for 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Thus, if after stage #2 of the play-off, Craiova's chances for the title increased by 9%, Rapid's decreased by 14%.
How do the calculations look in the area of European seats
The calculations were also modified in the area of the podium places, those that lead to the preliminaries of the European cups.
The chances of those from U Cluj to finish in one of the first two positions increased by 11%, while those of Rapid decreased by 19%.
For the final podium position, CFR is now seen 14% more likely than a round ago and Rapid 15% less likely to finish with a medal this season.
