Scammers tried to deceive a 79-year-old woman. First, she received a call allegedly from the pension fund under the pretext of recalculating her pension. After this, the northern woman was contacted by imaginary law enforcement officers who said that they were trying to steal her money. The woman was told to withdraw her savings and call back.
The pensioner went to the bank branch and tried to withdraw 1.9 million rubles from her card. Employees of the financial institution, suspecting something was wrong, reported to the police that fraudulent actions were being committed against an elderly client. Operatives immediately responded to the information and took the woman to the department. Thus, the grandmother’s money was saved, and the swindlers were unable to carry out their criminal intent.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. on the fact of attempted fraud. 30, part 4 art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, all circumstances and persons involved are established.
