On the stretch between Stolby and Divnogorsk stations, a man was hit by a train.
According to preliminary data, a 34-year-old man was crossing the railway tracks without making sure it was safe. The driver, seeing the man, sounded a warning signal and applied emergency braking, but a collision could not be avoided. The victim died from his injuries before the ambulance arrived.
Materials, withcollected by transport police during the investigation of the incident, will be sent to the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia for further verification.
“You should cross the tracks only at pedestrian crossings and decks, making sure that there is no approaching train, and only when the traffic light allows you to do so. It is prohibited to cross the tracks if the distance to the train is less than 400 meters,” the transport police once again reminds.
