One person died and two others were injured following a road accident that took place on Saturday evening on the national road DN 2, in the area of Pătrăuți.

The accident occurred after a 58-year-old man from Vicovu de Sus overtook and collided with another car traveling in the opposite direction, Monitorul de Suceava writes.
The impact was extremely violent, and the car in which the 58-year-old man was was turned into a pile of contorted beasts.
There were two people in the other car, a 26-year-old driver and a 25-year-old woman, both from Fântânele commune.
The man remained incarcerated inside the car, and after extrication, he was handed over to the medical and paramedical crews. Both the woman and the man were taken to hospital for further investigation and specialist treatment.

A minibus driven by a 33-year-old Ukrainian was also slightly hit in the accident.
He only escaped with a scare, and when tested with the breathalyzer, it was found that he had not consumed alcoholic beverages.
The driver who survived the crash could not be breathalyzed, but blood samples were taken at the hospital to determine whether or not he had consumed alcohol.
