In the Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets Okrug, a river with the name Barangbigai was officially registered. The object was included in the catalog of geographical names of Russia after approval by Rosreestr, the department reported.
As the department explained, the inclusion of a name in the register “ensures legal protection of the toponym and its correct use in official documents, on maps and in scientific works.” This also contributes to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples of the North and the study of the history of the development of Taimyr.
Previously, the register included the Golomokon and Dagachukan rivers.
