In the 90s, the songs of the now 68-year-old Dr. Alban sounded from every iron.
Many people still play his old hits – in the wake of nostalgia, these songs still feed the artist well.
Dr. himself Alban, despite his retirement age, actively tours the world, coming wherever he is called. Even if it is Crimea temporarily annexed by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, as was the case in the summer of 2017, or a party in the company of Russians in 2023. But first things first.
Concerts in Russian-occupied Crimea
The musician visited Crimea in July 2017. A video of his performance at the Yalta club “Sky Beach” has been made public on YouTube.
Despite this, Dr. Alban already performed in Vinnitsa in September of the same year. This was reported on the website of the Vinnytsia Regional Council.
The publication “Eastern Project” wrote that the performer performed at City Day in Kramatorsk on September 21, 2019.
Visit to Kyiv
The scandal arose only in January 2020, when the singer arrived in Kyiv to film a new episode of the Kvartal 95 studio show.
“I was banned from entering Ukraine due to a previous show on the disputed Crimean peninsula. With the intervention of the president, I was able to get into Ukraine,” he said on Instagram at the time, but after a wave of indignation he edited his post.
In the new version of the publication Dr. Alban stated that he allegedly knew nothing about the annexation of Crimea by the Russians.
“I was banned from entering Ukraine because of my previous show on the Crimean peninsula. I didn’t know that Ukrainians didn’t like it. Wherever I was, I was glad to meet the president,” the post said after making the edits.
I didn't know and then I forgot
Apparently, either the artist’s memory turned out to be too short, or his love for money was too great, since three years after that, without remorse, he lit up in the company of Russian propagandists and confessed his love to the aggressor country of the Russian Federation.
As noted by the propaganda site AIF.rusummer 2023 Dr. Alban entertained Russians on a cruise ship and plainly stated that he “loves Russia.”
Despite his undisguised love for the aggressor, and especially for Russian rubles, Dr. Alban is still played in many European countries.
