In Krasnoyarsk region a unique project is being implemented By creationyu screening center for early detection of tuberculosis using artificial intelligence. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Health.
“In 2026, all fluorographic digital installations in the region are equipped with modules and software for automatically transmitting images of the chest organs to the regional medical telecommunications system, where artificial intelligence analyzes them and, having identified, or rather, “suspected” pathology, transmits the information to radiologists of the regional TB dispensary. The purpose of the program is to point out to the doctor the changes identified during the study. In turn, radiologists and phthisiatricians of the dispensary quickly conduct a consultation within one day and make a conclusion on the need for additional diagnostics and examination of specialists,” told in the regional Ministry of Health.
The service allows doctors to identify the patient, obtain information in which medical institution in the region the picture was taken, as well as which clinic the patient is assigned to. A notification of the results of the study and a recommendation to urgently undergo a consultation is sent to the patient’s personal account on the State Services portal, and is also duplicated to his local therapist for additional notification by phone.
Since the beginning of 2026, using the system, it has been identified 23 people with suspicion of various diseases of the chest organs. All patients were prescribed additional studies and consultations with doctors. One case of tuberculosis has been diagnosed and treatment has already begun. WITHThese patients are recommended to go to other specialized clinics to establish and clarify the diagnosis.
Krasnoyarsk phthisiatricians were the first in Russia to systematically use artificial intelligence in identifying tuberculosis, as a tool that allows them to reach a new level of efficiency.
The project was developed and implemented by the regional Ministry of Health, the Krasnoyarsk Regional Medical Information and Analytical Center and the Krasnoyarsk Regional Anti-TB Dispensary No. 1 together with the platform for remote analysis of radiation studies using artificial intelligence services “MosMedII”.
