DTEK held a public discussion “Towards the Light” to document the experience of the hardest winter in the country’s history

The discussion panel was attended by Konstantin and Vlada Liberov, co-founder of the Honey confectionery chain and Zavertailo bakeries Anna Zavertailo, historian, author of the book “The First Energy War. The War that Russia Lost” Evgeny Mochalov and family psychologist, author of the book “I’m Going to a Psychologist” Ekaterina Goltsberg. According to the agency, the discussion was moderated by Sergei Kovalenko, CEO of Yasno.

“Participants spoke about the country’s overall experience this winter – about the life of cities and communities during periods of blackouts, about the ability of Ukrainians to adapt, support each other and remain resilient even in the most difficult days. Particular attention was paid to the people who return light to Ukrainian homes every day – energy workers working under shelling and restoring infrastructure after attacks,” the material noted.

The photo exhibition of documentary photography “Towards the Light” presents the Liberovs’ works and demonstrates not only the consequences of enemy attacks, but also the strength of the people who hold the country together, the organizers emphasized. The project is the second exhibition within the framework of DTEK’s art initiative.

“This is an opportunity to explain to those who will come after us why what we did now is so important and meaningful. This is history and an opportunity to prevent the mistakes that our parents made,” said Vlada Liberova.

Context

The exhibition “Towards the Light” will last until April 16 at the Sens bookstore at 34 Khreshchatyk Street.
