Polish industry records better results in terms of production, although this does not fully meet economists' expectations. Construction and assembly production is clearly failing, with an annual decline of almost 17% only in the case of enterprises engaged in the construction of buildings.

Industrial production in February 2026 was 2.7%. higher than in January. This translated into a result of 1.5%. better than the one obtained in February 2025.

Economists' forecasts differ from the final result. They assumed a monthly production increase of 3.1%. and an annual increase in the indicator by 1.3%. after the corresponding Central Statistical Office report from a month ago showed negative dynamics in both cases, at 6 and 1.5 percent, respectively. “Among the main industrial groups, in February there was an annual increase in the production of energy-related goods – by 7.7 percent, investment goods – by 3.9 percent and non-durable consumer goods – by 2.0 percent. However, the production of durable consumer goods – by 4.5 percent and supply goods – by 1.7 percent decreased.” – calculates the Central Statistical Office.

According to preliminary data, in February, an increase in sold production (at constant prices), compared to February last year, was recorded in 17 (out of 34) industry sectorsamong others in the repair, maintenance and installation of machines and devices – by 34.4%, in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and hot water – by 13.5%. and in the extraction of hard coal and brown coal (lignite) – by 13.3%.
In the production of machinery and equipment, the increase was 6.8%, computers, electronic and optical products – by 6.4%, paper and paper products – by 5%, food products – by 4.2%.
At the same time, a decline in industrial production sold occurred in 17 sectors, including: in the production of products from other non-metallic mineral raw materials – by 11.5%, metals – by 10.5%, other transport equipment – by 6.6%, metal products – by 3.7%, electrical appliances – by 3%, furniture – by 2.7%.

In February 2026, there was a decline in construction and assembly production per year for enterprises engaged in the construction of buildings – by 16.7%. and those performing specialized construction works – by 12.2 percent, as well as in units constructing civil engineering facilities – by 11.7 percent.
Compared to the previous month, in February 2026, construction and assembly production increased in enterprises constructing buildings (by 10.1%), constructing civil engineering facilities (by 5.1%) and carrying out specialized construction works (by 3.9%).
