In the city of Ilansky, Ilansky-Nizhneingashsky municipal district, a garbage truck of the regional operator ROSTtech caught fire.
The cause was hot ash, which residents stored in tanks. A garbage fire occurred in the compartment; a tragedy was avoided only thanks to the coordinated actions of the crew and the timely arrival of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. However, the special equipment was significantly damaged, the operator company reports.
“As a result of the fire, significant damage was caused to the garbage truck’s storage tank; the electrical and hydraulic systems were damaged,” the ROSTtech press service said.
The regional operator recalls the rules for handling ash:
- cool the ash completely
- pack in a tight bag
- leave next to the container
According to Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 293, placing hot, hot or burning waste in tanks is unacceptable (clause a, clause 36).
ROSTtech recalled that since the beginning of the year, fires in garbage trucks have already occurred and ask residents not to throw ash and slag waste into containers.
