Siberian students created a petition against forced registration in the MAX messenger

March 18 16:20

Students of Tyumen State University were outraged by the administration’s decision to make registration in the MAX messenger mandatory to access the university Internet. They launched a petition demanding that alternative connection methods be left, reports the Ural Meridian news agency.

Students received notice of the new rules the day before. Previously, you could access the network through a corporate account or browser. Now they want to open access only through the application MAX.

In the petition, the authors emphasize that they are not against digitalization and do not object to the messenger as a voluntary tool, but they consider it unacceptable to make the installation of the application a condition for using the educational infrastructure.

The document has already been signed by about a thousand people.
