Almost 80% of requests to Telegram from Russia stopped reaching users. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to data from the Merilo service, which monitors the quality of the Internet connection.
The speed of loading media files and messages in the messenger decreased significantly on March 14-15. The percentage of failed requests varies from region to region. In the Siberian Federal District, the figure is close to the maximum – 83%. A larger number of unsuccessful requests are recorded only in the Far East.

As Anastasia Bidzhelova, director of development at Telecom Exchange, explained, this is due to the different speed of setting up equipment for filtering traffic among providers: in some places the systems are already working at full capacity, in others they are still being tested.
According to her, it is technically difficult to completely disable Telegram due to the architecture of the messenger, but bringing it to a state where it becomes impossible to use is quite possible.
“In any case, the outcome is the same: either the authorities will ensure that the messenger completely stops functioning, or users will simply get tired of the endless problems and switch to more stable analogues,” she is sure.
Main losses from blocking Small and medium-sized businesses will suffer from Telegram, experts say. Many companies have built advertising campaigns, order acceptance systems, and customer communications through the messenger.
