In the village of Surinda, Evenki Municipal District, Reindeer Herder Day was celebrated. This was reported by the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories and Support of Indigenous Minorities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
This year, industry workers were honored at the Surindinsky state farm. Representatives of local authorities came to the enterprise and talked with the reindeer herders. Over the past year, noticeable changes have occurred at the state farm. The enterprise switched to fenced keeping of deer – a corral was built for this, and two brigades merged into an enlarged one.
Now the farm has about 600 reindeer, including young animals. The use of a fence made it possible to provide safer living conditions for animals. In addition, for the needs of the brigade, they purchased beams for storing feed, food and household equipment.
At the celebration, the best employees received letters of gratitude and valuable gifts – solar panels, radios, tools and household supplies.
In the village of Surinda, a concert was held for residents and veterans of the industry with the participation of creative groups from Evenkia and local amateur ensembles. The audience was presented with a theatrical performance dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Evenk writer Nikolai Oyogir. There was also an exhibition of decorative and applied arts.
The local school hosted competitions in northern sports – sled jumping and national triple jump.
In memory of the participant in the special military operation, poet and musician Ilya Yoldogir, the reindeer herders were given the book “Private Ilya Yoldogir: an essay on the life of the commander of the reconnaissance group of the special military operation.” Previously, a video for one of his songs “Wait for Me” was filmed on the territory of Surinda, in which reindeer herders from the Surinda state farm took part.
