Trump announced that his chief of staff has cancer. “An amazing person”

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, according to the announcement made by US President Donald Trump on Monday, quoted by CNN.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said doctors' prognosis for Susie Wiles is “excellent” and she will work “virtually full-time at the White House” during treatment.
“Her strength and her dedication to continue to do the work she loves and does so well while undergoing treatment tells you everything you need to know about her,” the US president added.
Trump did not say how long Wiles' treatment would take or provide other details about the diagnosis, but said she “decided to tackle this challenge right away instead of waiting.”
Susie Wiles said she has an 'outstanding team of doctors'
The chief of staff also sent a statement, in which she stated that she intends to remain in office.
“I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who caught the cancer early and are guiding my care, and I am encouraged by a favorable prognosis,” she said.
She and Trump attended a meeting with the Kennedy Center board at the White House on Monday, where the president described her as an “amazing person, an amazing fighter” who was dealing with “a minor hardship.”
“He's going to take care of it right away,” Donald Trump said.
Susie Wiles, 68, played a major role in Trump's 2024 campaign and is the first woman to serve as White House chief of staff.
Considered the most important position on the White House staff, chiefs of staff generally ensure that the president's agenda is followed, according to the BBC.
