The Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor told you how to properly dry-clean items to avoid unpleasant surprises.
When choosing a dry cleaner, experts advise asking friends for recommendations or studying reviews on the Internet. In addition, make sure that the establishment has an information stand with the name of the organization, legal address and work schedule.
Upon acceptance, the specialist must carefully examine your item, study the symbols on the product label and, in accordance with them, determine the appropriate type of processing. All special stains, the risk of shedding after dry cleaning and other features are recorded in the receipt before work begins.
“Read the receipt before you sign. This is your insurance. By signing, you automatically agree to these risks and release the dry cleaner from liability for these reasons. From the moment of acceptance, the dry cleaner is responsible for the safety of the item. Be sure to save your copy of the receipt,” Rospotrebnadzor noted.
In this case, the receipt must contain:
- Your name and contacts;
- Name and legal address of the dry cleaner;
- Type of service and its cost;
- Description of the product: name, color, composition, completeness, fittings, existing defects that cannot be removed by dry cleaning;
- The estimated value of the item taking into account wear and tear;
- Information about the payment made (full or partial);
- Dates of receipt and execution of the order;
- Warranty periods;
- Additional paid services (only with your consent);
Upon receipt, carefully inspect the item directly at the dry cleaner in good lighting. If you find any deficiencies in the work, record them in the work completion certificate. After this, submit a written claim, drawn up in two copies, in which you indicate the defects found and your demands for a choice: elimination of defects free of charge, reduction in the cost of work performed, re-performance of the work, compensation for the costs of eliminating defects on your own or by third parties.
Indicate in your claim a reasonable period for eliminating the defects – at least 7 days. Take the item only after drawing up a bilateral document with a list of all detected damages. If your claim is refused or ignored, go to court.
