Over half of the surveyed in the largest EU countries wants the resignation of the chairman of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and believes that by agreeing an EU trade agreement from the USA, it did not defend the interests of the Old Continent – wrote the analytical portal Le Grand Continent in the development of the results of the next edition of the Eurobazook poll.

The survey was conducted in cooperation with the Cluster 17 poll in five community countries – France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Poland. 5,302 people took part in the study in total.
When asked if they heard about the EU-US trade agreement, in all countries outside of Poland respondents replied mostly that they know what they are talking about. Polish study participants in 53 percent They replied that “they heard about the contract, but they did not know what to the end”, and as much as 29 percent. She never heard of her.
On average, more than half of Europeans (52 percent) believe that the European Union has capitulated on a trade agreement with the USA. “Considering such a technical topic as customs, the results are significant. They show that the agreement caused a political and emotional reaction that goes beyond the technical sphere,” the portal assessed.
Europeans agree that European enterprises will be most affected by the new duties imposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump.
Germans, Spaniards, French and Italians accuse the negotiations of the European Commission, and among Polish respondents opinions are divided. Many Polish respondents think that the fault is on the side of the Member States. As much as 70 percent among the Germans He estimates that the chairwoman of the EC did not manage to defend the interests of the EU.
Asked if they want to leave the European Union, respondents from individual countries had different sentences. The Spaniards are the greatest supporters of the community and 85 percent. He wants to stay in it. Next, there are Germany (74 percent), Italians (72 %) and Poles (64 percent).
Le Grand Continent pointed out that compared to the same study conducted in December 2024, the day after winning in Trump's election, an average of 4 percent. More Europeans want to leave the community. In Germany, opposition to the EU grows fastest and 13 percent increased to 22 percent. The authors emphasized that this is a disturbing trend.
Thinking about the divergence between Polish respondents and the rest, the portal assessed that there could be several reasons for this. Poles know less about the trade agreement between the EU and the US, and the good opinion about Donald Trump among Polish respondents is not strange, taking into account the result of the presidential election in Poland, which was won by Karol Nawrocki. About 33 percent He recognizes him as a “friend” of Europe. (PAP)
