The prosecutor brought over 340 charges against a 67-year-old diagnostician from Lublin, who allegedly certified untruths in registration certificates in exchange for bribes, the police reported on Tuesday. It was established that the cars were undergoing inspections, although they did not even appear at the inspection station.

Spokesman of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Lublin, deputy inspector. Andrzej Fijołek announced that six men aged 24-67 are suspected of participating in an organized criminal group that operated from March to September 2024.

The police reported that the leader of the group was a 67-year-old who worked at diagnostic stations in Lublin and Biała Podlaska. – The remaining detainees provided the diagnostician with documents and money for “performing” a technical inspection of the vehicle – said Fijołek.

The officers arrested the suspects last week. They seized money, inspection certificates and registration certificates that were waiting to be stamped. Members of the group could gain up to PLN 100,000 from the practice. zloty. The District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin charged all detainees with receiving financial benefits and certifying untruths in documents. The 67-year-old was also charged with over 340 charges for fictitious technical inspections of vehicles.

The group's leader was temporarily arrested for three months. The remaining suspects were placed under supervision and must pay a total of PLN 180,000. PLN property guarantee and are prohibited from leaving the country.

The police do not rule out further arrests in this case. The suspects face up to eight years in prison. (PAP)
