VTB, together with its charitable foundation VTB-Strana, launched the first corporate program to support local history museums in Russia. Institutions in 15 regions of the country were allocated 15 million rubles.

The project is designed to strengthen the role of local history museums in the preservation of cultural heritage, emphasize local identity and draw attention to the traditions and identity of different peoples. Among others, VTB finances the creation of a cultural, educational and educational program for the National Museum. Aldan-Maadyr of the Republic of Tyva, as well as the project of the Tashtyp Municipal Museum of Local Lore (Republic of Khakassia). In 2026, the program will be scaled to other regions.

“In Russia, more than a third of museums are local history museums. But despite their widespread popularity, they cannot yet compete with large cultural institutions, and their activities require additional funding. VTB has been a philanthropist of leading museums such as the Hermitage, Peterhof, and the Tretyakov Gallery for more than 20 years,” said Natalya Kochneva, VTB Senior Vice President and Chairman of the Board of the VTB Country Foundation.

Another goal of the program is the introduction of digital technologies to increase the accessibility of museum collections to a wider audience and attract the attention of the younger generation to exhibitions. As part of this direction, VTB is ready to support projects that create new formats for the exchange of cultural experiences: virtual tours and 3D exhibitions, digitization of archival collections, launch of mobile applications and interactive kiosks.
