The Swedes detained a ship of the Russian “shadow fleet”. The court made a decision

On Sunday, a court in Ystad, Sweden, arrested the captain of the Sea Owl I vessel. The 228-meter-long tanker, sailing from Santos, Brazil, to Primorsk, Russia, was detained on Thursday by the Coast Guard and police off the coast of Trelleborg.

The ship belongs to the Russian “shadow fleet”. It is on the sanctions list of several countries, including EU countries, in connection with the transport of fuel products between Russia and Brazil.

The tanker with a crew of 10 Russians and 14 Indonesians has been subject to a sailing ban issued by the Swedish Transport Authority since Saturday due to its poor technical condition.
