“I pissed myself, damn drunk.” Where is Yeltsin’s widow now, who outlived him by almost 20 years?

Yeltsin “could have hit her in the eye”

In 2017, in an interview with Ukrainian journalist, founder of the online publication “GORDON” Dmitry Gordon former security chief Yeltsin Alexander Korzhakov said that Yeltsin’s wife could not take off her tinted glasses for several weeks, hiding the bruises after her husband’s beatings.

“You told me: “Yeltsin could not only hit his wife below the back with a racket, but also hit her hard in the eye.” Did Boris Nikolayevich often do this?” – Gordon asked Korzhakov.

“He told me about this case – how he actually tore her up when she was chatting. Actually, it’s not very ethical to retell this: unpleasant moments for Naina. She wore dark glasses at home twice for two weeks, which means she got it again. And she got it simply for the fact that if a person wants to add, don’t bother him: sometimes it’s so infuriating that…” Korzhakov said then.

Why did she call her husband “pissed drunk”

Korzhakov also said that Naina Yeltsin once woke him up with the words: “Boris Nikolayevich fell and lies motionless. He peed himself, he’s damn drunk.”

The former head of Yeltsin’s security service clarified that the Russian President then suffered a “very strong heart attack.”

“Flying to America at the age of Boris Nikolayevich, frequent drinking, fatigue – all this took its toll. But that evening he just didn’t get drunk, he took a maximum of four glasses. The attack happened. And he had his first heart attack in the summer of 1995,” he noted.

Multi-million dollar pension

According to Korzhakov, Yeltsin’s widow’s pension is “several million.”

“Well, how about ‘several’? Yeltsin had 120-odd million, and she probably had half. So there’s no need to steal: what the state gives is enough,” he said almost 10 years ago.

What Yeltsin's widow looks like now

Naina Yeltsina avoids publicity, but in 2020 her grandchildren posted a photo on Instagram in which they were captured with her.
