The US president said during the interview that he is working with other countries on a plan to secure the Strait of Hormuz amid soaring global oil prices. He also downplayed Americans' concerns about rising fuel prices since the attack on Iran two weeks ago.

In an interview with NBC News, Donald Trump also indicated that he was surprised by Iran's attack on other Middle Eastern countries. “I was surprised,” he admitted. He also added that U.S. attacks on Iran's Khark island “completely destroyed” its surface, but the U.S. “may strike a few more times for fun.”

During the conversation, the US president did not want to indicate what conditions Iran must meet for the US to be ready for a peace agreement. He only mentioned that one of them is the complete abandonment of all nuclear ambitions by Tehran.
