Ciprian Ciucu wants two more mayoral mandates: “These things are done in 10 years”

The general mayor of the capital, Ciprian Ciucu, declared in a TV show that he wants two more terms as mayor, because “these things are done in a 10-year cycle, which means transformation”.
The mayor of the capital, Ciprian Ciucu, was asked in a show broadcast on Saturday evening on Digi 24 if he has the political ambition to become the president of Romania, according to the recipe from the mayor's office to the presidency, reports News.ro.
“I, first of all, have to prove that I deserve to be mayor once more. I have two more years and it will be two difficult years. We have some huge budget problems. There are some reforms and some projects that have to happen and I am more suited to executive positions, from which something visible and tangible can come out, than representative positions. Obviously, it is an honor for anyone to be president, but you should know that I do not want to stay until retirement in politics”, declared the mayor of Bucharest.
He also stated that he wanted to become general mayor for a long time, but he didn't have much of a choice here either. “I had to run, because the future of my party was at stake, and I assumed this candidacy. I wanted to be mayor general. I want two more terms as mayor, because these things are done in a 10-year cycle, which means transformation. Now, in 2 years, maybe we will be able to make some repairs to the budget problems we have and to the reforms that are needed now in Bucharest,” said Ciucu.
