Former AUR founding member, on George Simion: “He's on his way out of this game. He's holding several people hostage”

MEP Şerban Dimitrie Sturdza, founding member of the AUR, claims that George Simion is being held “hostage” by Maricel Păcuraru, the boss of Realitatea TV, Dan Dungaciu, the new first vice-president of the AUR, and Petrisor Peiu, the president of the party's National Leadership Council.

Sturdza, elected on the AUR lists in the 2024 elections, but left the party in the meantime, was asked, in the Political Insider show, broadcast on Saturday on Prima TV, what political future he foresees for George Simion.

“Despite the polls that keep appearing and show him enjoying great respectability, I believe that George Simion is already on his way out of this game. I believe that he is the hostage of several people who are part of the same system. Regarding Maricel Păcuraru (Patron of Realitatea TV – no), Dan Dungaciu and even Petrişor Peiu. Dan Dungaciu practically replacing Marius Lulea, first vice-president of the party, and Petrisor Peiu occupying the position held by Mr. Târziu in the last period in the AUR party, respectively president of the National Leadership Council”, said Şerban Dimitrie Sturdza, quoted by News.ro.

The MEP also said that AUR “has some terrible, huge debts towards Realitatea TV, respectively Maricel Păcuraru”.

“You look at Constanța, Mohamed Murad was replaced by Alexandra Păcuraru (the daughter of the owner of Realitatea TV – no). I would not like to develop too much, but things are clear. As I said earlier, there are isolated people in AUR, who live a little what we also lived until our departure and the creation of the Conservative Party”, said Şerban Sturdza.

In February, Alexandra Beatrice Bertalan-Păcuraru, daughter of the owner of the Realitatea Plus station, Maricel Păcuraru, was appointed vice-president of AUR in the Dobrogea area.

AUR Deputy Mohammad Murad said that Alexandra Păcuraru “has been collaborating with us for a long time” and “we are trying to come up with an even more visible approach”.
