Romania picked up four fighters. The drone violated the border

A statement from the Romanian Ministry of Defense shows that radar systems detected several targets near the northern border. Air defense systems were put on alert and two F-16 aircraft took off to survey and monitor the airspace. Then, two more German Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, which are in Romania as part of the NATO mission, joined the action.

Romanian authorities suspect that the drone that violated the country's airspace crashed. The services are trying to find the remains of the machine.

Romania is a potential target of attacks

This is not the first situation of this type in recent weeks. On February 25, a Russian drone entered Romanian airspace near the town of Sfantu Gheorghe on the Black Sea. In response, the Romanian army lifted two F-16 fighters from the Fetesti air base. The authorities sent an alert to residents of the northern part of Tulcea County.
