Protests in Iran continue. The US is moving its armed forces there


Protests in Iran began on December 28. Initially, it was a strike related to the record devaluation of the rial, a sharp increase in prices and a very difficult economic situation. However, the protest quickly turned into a much more political event. Protesters began to use slogans against the Iranian government and the power of the ayatollahs. According to information from the opposition website Iran International, protests have spread to over 200 Iranian cities since the end of December. Media reported that security forces shot at protesters in several places, including in the southern city of Shiraz.

Many recordings showing what the protests in Iran look like have already appeared on the Internet. They show crowds of people walking on the streets, including: Tehran or Mashhad. You can hear shouts: “Long live the Shah”, “This is the last battle!” and “Death to the Dictator”.
There are clashes between protesters and the services. This happened, among others, in Fardis. In Tehran, at night, protest participants set fire to a government building. On Thursday, police used tear gas in the cities of Kerman and Tonekabon. According to information provided by the Internet monitoring group Netblocks, there was no connection to the network throughout the country.
According to data from the non-governmental organization Iran Human Rights, based in Norway, at least 45 demonstrators have been killed since the beginning of the protests in Iran.

Americans intervening in Iran? Reports on armed forces movements
The United States does not rule out intervention in Iran. American President Donald Trump, in one of his interviews with Fox News, admitted that US forces would strike the ayatollah regime if protesters continued to be killed.
Republican senator Lindsey Graham commented on the matter in a harsh tone. In an interview for the same television, he appealed to the Iranian authorities to stop persecuting the participants of the ongoing protests and start taking the American president seriously. – I warn the ayatollahs: if you kill your people demanding a better life, Donald Trump will kill you – he threatened.

The Chinese maritime surveillance company Mingkun Technology said on Thursday that dozens of American tankers and heavy cargo planes had flown from the US and from a US air base in the UK to military bases in the Persian Gulf located near Iran.
As reported by “The Times”, the last time such a strengthening of the armed forces and such activity was observed was in June 2025, when the US military bombed many nuclear facilities in Iran.
