University of Craiova received a visit from FC Arges in the first stage of the play-off, at the “Ion Oblemenco” Stadium. At halftime, the guests were leading 1-0, and Gazeta Sporturilor surprised Olten coach Filipe Coelho in the stands.

Suspended after the elimination from the Cup match, the Portuguese technician watched the game from the press area, together with two members of the team's staff.

At the moment when the stadium announcer presented the teams, and the Craiova supporters were chanting his name, Filipe Coelho remained impassive. The technician didn't get up or react, just looking at the field.

During the first half, the coach did not get up from his chair. It wasn't until half-time that he stood up, looking visibly preoccupied and slightly lost in thought, his gaze fixed on the pitch.

Shortly after the restart, the Portuguese left the press area and walked for a few moments between this area and Stand 1. Afterwards, he climbed the stairs to the stands, walking slowly and looking down, in an attitude that seemed to betray the tension of the match.

In the 73rd minute, at the goal scored by the University through Alexandru Cicâldău, Coelho, together with the staff members who accompanied him in the press area, watched the replays together. Later, the goal was disallowed for offside, after the intervention of VAR.

Why is Coelho suspended

Filipe Coelho was suspended for two stages after the elimination from the Romanian Cup match won by Universitatea Craiova with 3-1 against CFR Cluj.

The technician saw the second yellow card after entering the field to celebrate the goal scored by Ștefan Baiaram, his reaction being sanctioned by the match referee.
