Biomass boilers dominate the Clean Air program – according to the latest data for June 2025. Does this mean that Poles turn away from heat pumps?
In June 2025, pellets and excerpt wood reached a record share of 76 percent, which means an increase of 6 percentage points. compared to April this year. For comparison, heat pumps obtained only 23 percent. participation, noting a decrease by 2 percentage points at the same time. Experts indicate that one of the main reasons for the growing popularity of biomass boilers are stable fuel prices. Pellet, despite earlier price turmoil caused by, among others War in Ukraine has been maintaining a constant price level for two years. Even at the beginning of 2023, heat pumps were the leader of the Clean Air program, achieving a record share of 53 percent. Biomass boilers constituted only 17 percent. selected devices. To this day, this technology has not regained its former advantage, which may be the result of both higher investment costs and changing consumer preferences.
