Zamioculcas, often called the “dollar tree”, is considered one of the most unpretentious indoor plants. However, even this resilient flower requires proper care. If you follow a few simple rules, the plant forms dense, shiny leaves and grows actively.
Choose a compact pot
Zamioculcas develops better in a relatively tight pot. When the roots occupy most of the space, the plant directs its forces to the growth of leaves and shoots. A pot that is too large can slow down the development of the flower.
Use loose soil
For Zamioculcas, it is important that the soil has good air permeability and dries quickly. Typically, a mixture of fertile soil with the addition of perlite, zeolite or other loosening components is used. Such soil helps to avoid stagnation of moisture.
Water sparingly
Zamioculcas is one of the plants that tolerate short-term drought better than excess water. It is recommended to water the flower only after the soil has completely dried. Excessive moisture can lead to root rot.
Provide proper lighting
The plant prefers bright, diffused light, but can tolerate partial shade. In winter, Zamioculcas can be placed closer to the window, where it will receive more natural light.
If these simple conditions are met, zamioculcas will grow strong and decorative, remaining a spectacular decoration of the home interior.
