In the spring, many summer residents choose tomato varieties for greenhouses and open ground. Among the unusual varieties, gardeners highlight tomato “Lover's Lunch” – a bicolor variety that is valued for its bright appearance and sweet taste of the fruit.
This tomato belongs to the indeterminate varieties, so the bushes grow quite tall – usually up to 160–180 centimeters. The plant forms simple clusters of 4–6 fruits, so the bushes require staking and regular pinching.
The fruits of the variety are large and fleshy. The average weight of tomatoes is 150–300 grams, but individual tomatoes can be even larger on the first bunches. The shape of the fruits is usually flat-round.
The peculiarity of the variety is its unusual color. On the outside, the tomatoes have an orange-golden hue with pink streaks, and on the inside the flesh is bright orange with contrasting stripes. Thanks to this, tomatoes look impressive in fresh salads.
According to gardeners, the fruits have a sweet taste with slight sourness and juicy pulp. These tomatoes are most often used fresh, as well as for making juices, sauces and homemade preparations.
Summer residents note that with proper care – regular watering, garter and fertilizing – the variety shows stable productivity and can become an interesting choice for the new summer season.
