The American army has already struck more than 5,000 targets on Iranian territory, and yet the island of Khark, located several dozen kilometers from the Iranian coast, magically stands intact in the midst of enormous destruction caused by Israeli and American airstrikes.
The secret of this place is simple – 90% of water flows through it. Iranian oil exports, and the island of Khark is therefore one of the most important elements of the global energy market. This is confirmed, among others, by: Neil Quilligan of the Chatnam House think tank.

“Unsolved Mystery” of the White House
Over 1.5 million barrels of crude oil flow through Khark Island every day, and the island also has reserves of as much as 18 million barrels of oil. No wonder that information has already appeared that The Americans may be preparing to take over the island, which would, however, involve several big problems.
Firstly, as “The Guardian” notes, taking control of the island would require the involvement of large land forces, and it is clear that the White House does not want to include infantry in operations in the Middle East for now. Secondly, this would also affect the global oil market, as oil from Iran would simply stop flowing to the island.

For the same reasons, the Americans cannot attack the island, even if it would be a huge economic blow to the Iranian authorities. A blow that could accelerate the change of power in Tehran, but then the new government would be deprived of the same, extremely important source of income.
For now, the island of Chark remains an unsolved mystery in the context of the war in the Middle East, and there is no indication that the American administration will have managed to solve it. Khark will probably remain the safest part of Iranian territory until the end of the war.
